Steven Myint
Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board, MD, PhD, Professor
Steve is an advisor to the chairman of Singapore’s Agency for Science and Technology, amongst other governmental organizations. Previous roles include Executive Chairman of Green Signal Bio, one of India’s largest independent vaccine manufacturers, Global Medical Director of GlaxoSmithKline and Senior Vice-President for R&D/Chief Medical Officer at BTG International. He is actively involved in innovative biotech companies and co-founded Finland’s largest accelerator fund.
He is a Fellow or Member of several UK societies, including the Institute of Knowledge Transfer, the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Society of Medicine.
Alexander Cohen
MD, PhD, Professor
Alexander Cohen is a vascular physician and epidemiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College, London, UK. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Cohen is involved in designing, managing and analysing clinical trials from Phase I to IV. He is the Chairman and a member of many international steering committees for multicentre trials, epidemiological and pharmacoeconomic studies, and was previously the Director of Clinical Research and an epidemiologist in thrombosis research at King’s College Hospital. Dr Cohen has written and co-authored over 450 publications and is on the editorial board of several journals. He has over 40 publications in The Lancet and New England Journal of Medicine, as well as over 20 in British Medical Journal, Blood, Circulation, Annals of Internal Medicine and JAMA Internal Medicine.

Anders Albäck

Anders Albäck is a renowned expert in vascular surgery and former Chief of Vascular Surgery at Helsinki University Central Hospital.
Gijs van Dedem
PhD, Professor
Gijs is an acknowledged expert in heparin chemistry. He is co-inventor of danaparoid (Orgaran®), a heparinoid antithrombotic drug developed by Organon and later acquired by Aspen Pharma. Gijs has served among other roles as Chief Biochemist of Organon and Professor of Analytical Biochemistry at Delft University of Technology, Kluyver. He is a member of several societies, including The Royal Dutch Chemical Society and The Royal Dutch Biochemical Society.
Jonathan Himmelfarb

Jonathan Himmelfarb is Professor of Medicine, Director of Kidney Research Institute and The Joseph W. Eschbach Endowed Chair in Kidney Research at the University of Washington, Seattle, U.S. His clinical and research interests focus on clinical and translational kidney research, including oxidative stress and inflammation in chronic kidney disease, biomarkers of cardiovascular risk in kidney disease, dialysis vascular access and mechanisms of proteinuria. He serves as Councilor of the American Society of Nephrology and on the Scientific Advisory Board of Satellite Health Care Research Foundation, ABIM Subspecialty Board on Nephrology, External Review Committee in KEEP Program of National Kidney Foundation and Editorial Board in Kidney International.
Michael Kroll
MD, PhD, Professor
Michael is Professor of Medicine and Chief of Benign Hematology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, U.S. He is an acknowledged expert in thrombosis whose basic research focuses on mechanisms of thrombosis and clinical research on thrombotic disorders. He is one of 13 international experts who participate in the American Society of Hematology’s (ASH) “Consult a Colleague” program in Hemostasis and Thrombosis. Michael serves also amongst his other roles as Co-Chair of MD Anderson Cancer Thrombosis Work Group.
Adam Cuker
MD, MS, PhD
Adam Cuker is Section Chief of Classical Hematology, Director of the Penn Comprehensive Hemophilia and Thrombosis Program, and Associate Professor of Medicine and of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is Chair of the American Society of Hematology Committee on Quality and Chair of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis Scientific Standardization Subcommittee on Control of Anticoagulation. He conducts patient-oriented research in disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis.
